Niagara wine route hotels 2003
Here is a list of the major inns and hotels near the Niagara wine route that I can recommend. Where possible, I suggest you contact the hotel directly to make your reservations. Winter package rates are about one third the price of summer rates. Two warnings: check out dining room menu prices in advance, many are very expensive. Also holiday weekends bring lots of families to these hotels, so pools are standing room only and the dining rooms are wall to wall screaming babies.

Holiday Inn St. Catharines Lake St. and North Service Rd. (905) 934-8000. Indoor and outdoor pools, fitness facilities, executive club wing. Great Caribbean-style restaurant, bar featuring local wines. Midweek packages available. Beware that this hotel sells fitness memberships to local residents so the pools are always busy. Four Points by Sheraton St. Catharines Niagara Suites Just outside of St. Catharines. Luxury hotel where every room is a suite. Formerly called Embassy Suites, then Niagara Suites. Indoor pool. Sheraton on the Falls, Brock Plaza Hotel
Next to falls and Casino Niagara. The Sheraton on the Falls has just finished extensive renovations inside and out. It now has an indoor pool. Luxury hotels with falls views. Queens Landing Inn, Pillar and Post, Prince of Wales Hotel, and Oban Inn in Niagara-on-the-Lake. These hotels fall under the luxury category and have complete recreation and dining facilities. Hilton Niagara Falls. Brand new hotel overlooking falls on Buchanan Ave, across the street from the new casino. Indoor pool complex with water slide. Dining room is on the 33rd floor and is fallsview. Jacuzzi and family suites. Ramada Plaza Hotel. Remember the Minolta Tower? Well, it has been renovated to a small hotel with rooms 500 feet above Niagara Falls. Make sure you book a fully fallsview room. Travelodge Near the Falls Indoor Pool, Near Clifton Hill, walk to falls. Buffet breakfast restaurant. This hotel used to be great when it was new. There is a two story motel section on the other side of the parking lot that is very popular with singles that like to party.
