Your safety and well-being depend on where you live in Albuquerque. Many beautiful parts of the city are worth seeing, and the beautiful watermelon mountains make is worth staying. The people are somewhat friendly but I would not walk around central at night even if it is well-lit.

I love Albuquerque. I've lived here my entire life and would honestly be sad to go. That being said, I do worry for it. Crime and homelessness has only gotten worse. I often don't feel safe going outside to do my grocery shopping or just to walk. The housing market has gotten out of control also. It is a great place to live though. The winters are warm enough and the summers are filled with sun.

Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a city that offers a rich array of experiences, from its deep cultural heritage and natural beauty to its vibrant academic and technological landscape. Whether exploring the historical sites, hiking in the mountains, engaging in innovative research, or savoring local cuisine, visitors and residents alike can find a wealth of opportunities for enrichment and enjoyment. Albuquerque's unique blend of tradition and innovation makes it a dynamic and welcoming place to live, study, and explore. Albuquerque’s strong sense of community is evident in its numerous festivals and community events. In addition to the Balloon Fiesta, the city hosts events like the Gathering of Nations Powwow, one of the largest Native American powwows in North America, and the New Mexico State Fair, which showcases the state's agricultural and cultural heritage. These markets foster a sense of community and support local artisans.

Albuquerque is a small town trying to be a city with city problems. Public schools and public transportation systems both need a lot of help. The cost of living is pretty low. The housing market is crazy but better than the coast. The weather is a plus, although the summers are getting ridiculously hot... climate change and all.

I enjoy the environment surrounding the city. Every type of sport imaginable is within a 2 hour drive, aside from ocean related events, and seasonally dependent. Albuquerque is centrally located in New Mexico and isn't to far from many major cites like Las Vegas, NV; Denver, CO; or Phoenix, AZ. One thing I would like to see change is a complete overhaul of the homelessness problem and population. It is a rampant problem alongside illegal drug usage within the city and it plagues the overall habitability and reputation of the city compared to the state as a whole and even the rest of the nation. Majorly famous musicians have created songs about the city and its vibrant culture and if we could solve the aforementioned issues, Albuquerque could become a giant hub to the country in general.

I was born and raised in ABQ. There are a lot of great things here, the lack of humidity, diverse climate, lots of things to do outdoors and we have the most amazing food. On the downside, we are a poor state, housing is really expensive right now and crime is high. Having said that re crime, I have not had 1 experience with crime myself. If you avoid places and situations that put you at risk, you are less likely to experience it.

Albuquerque has a lot to offer when it comes to it's diversity and cuisine. Unfortunately the homeless population and the drug scene in Albuquerque is getting worse day by day. I would like to see this state and city receive more funding for shelters, better police presence, and more updates to the heart of the city.

I love the scenery in Albuquerque, the sunsets are so beautiful and very common. I love the outdoors here, too. I would like to see change in the crime here and justice.

Albuquerque is the worst city I have ever lived in. Ive lived in over 15 cities in my life. The people are for the most part uneducated ignorant sloths. The customer service is the bottom of the barrel. Imagine a disgruntled employee an hour before they plan on calling it quits—that’s the level of customer service you get. They don’t even know that they are being paid to at least pretend to care. They must think they’re being paid to stand there. The drivers don’t know the rules of the road, and, are constantly speeding, running red lights and tailgating. They don’t seem to realize they could hurt or even kill somebody. They don’t care about the environment. They don’t recycle glass, you have to take your glass to a recycling area yourself. They cut down perfectly healthy trees rather than pay for upkeep. They waste water and energy. The state government is either utterly bankrupt of all common sense or they are criminals. Sometimes it takes 8 months to get a state tax refund.

If you like meth, heroine, and fentanyl this is the place for you! It is a haven for low lives! If you love violence and small minded ignorant people you will thrive here.

It is a fairly decent city, a good location for travel with lots of national parks and mountains nearby. Good restaurants and malls, though entertainment is somewhat lacking compared to the size of the city. Housing is a bit expensive at times but still decent, though the city has some issues with crime, so you have to watch what part of town you're in.

Albuquerque is a calmed town. The people here are really different. There are a lot of diversity of races and ethics. It not the most pretty or good taken care town but it definitely has a lot of places a tourist can enjoy. These places reflect their culture and who they are. Overall Albuquerque is a pretty good place to be.

I have lived here for 10 years. Though I like living here, it is less than in previous years. As the population has increased, the traffic and driving are getting worse. Lots of car accidents, aggressive driving, and uninsured motorists. The cost of housing is rapidly rising. At this point, I am looking for a smaller place to live with less crime.

I moved here as an adult and just don't really see the appeal. There are some things I really enjoy, like being able to see mountains wherever I go and easy access to hiking/biking/walking trails, but my overall experience has been pretty low. Safety is a concern, but my biggest issue has been medical. There are huge waitlists to see any sort of specialist, and even some to see a GP. Medical care I have received has also been questionable. The city also isn't walkable at all, and public transport is unreliable.

I moved to Abq for a job. I liked the weather overall, although the summers are getting way too hot. The last few years we had temps for weeks in the 100s. I lived in the NE Heights which was nice and safe, near the highway, and near stores etc. My job was downtown in a horrible and dangerous area. What a pit the downtown is, never went there unless I had to for work, luckily we had 4 days telework! The people there are some of the dumbest, most ignorant I have ever seen. If you are motivated and educated at a good school, ( most aren’t here or have “degrees” from U of Phoenix) you will be golden without even trying. My work friends were in our Phoenix office, the people in Albuquerque were unfriendly and dumb as bricks, just like the people in Abq. Low life’s who have never left the state. Best things were weather overall, landscape, and my location. The other thing at first that was attractive was cost of living, however prices on rents and homes have gone through the roof.

Albuquerque has its ups and downs. Just like any other city there are good parts and bad parts of town. But overall this city has a lot of great aspects to it. I think if you live towards the outskirts of the city things are a bit nicer. I would like to see a decrease in crime rates and homelessness.
