A Popular Social Emotional Curriculum to Foster Regulation Across Ages 4-18+
Testimonials from Parents, Teachers, and Clinicians
This curriculum goes beyond teaching a single child about their sensory and emotional state. It gives parents, therapists, and teachers explicit tools to help all children regulate and navigate social and sensory challenges thrown their way. By using The Zones teachings in our home, our children are becoming more flexible thinkers.
Mark, Parent of 8-year-old twin boys with Asperger’s Syndrome
More students need to know their zones and how to manage their emotions— this curriculum is a great way to start!
Elizabeth C., Special Ed. Teacher
The Zones of Regulation® provides a clear road map of thoughtfully designed lessons to help educators empower students to develop self-regulatory abilities—abilities that research demonstrates will ensure success in life well beyond the classroom. Educators will find The Zones of Regulation to be a user-friendly and practical manual full of clear teaching strategies as well as concrete examples of appropriate self-regulatory strategies for their students.
Amy, Educational Consultant, Author
The Zones of Regulation is built from a simple concept: Many children who are labeled as “bad” are really just kids who haven’t learned how to control their emotions in socially appropriate ways. The curriculum uses easy-to-understand terminology and cutting-edge tactics to teach the often-overlooked skill of self-regulation. It’s an important book not only for professionals who work with complex students but also for people who deal with children in any setting.
Terri R., Social Cognitive Specialist/Consultant
The Zones of Regulation will cross disciplines and professional organizations to serve as a leading intervention tool that blends methodologies of Social Thinking®, sensory processing, and emotional intelligence. The Zones acknowledges the importance of generalization of concepts and builds a bridge between professionals, educators, and parents in the form of developmentally appropriate visuals and strategies that can be used across settings. Every child sitting in today’s classroom would benefit from The Zones.
Chris, Autism Consultant
Leah's tools are great for my students, and myself, and I definitely have learned something I can incorporate to each Zone! I love the blending of the Zones of Regulation framework with Social Thinking to help my kiddos.
